 Therapy is an opportunity to take time out for yourself and explore your deep felt concerns. It is important to feel that someone is listening and cares. A therapist is a guide to help make decisions in an objective way. To experience depression or anxiety in ones life is very common. Coping strategies are key - including cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), mindfulness and insight.

There are different stages that couples go through in its own lifetime - early, middle, and mature phases. Each phase has its own challenges. Couples often find themselves stuck, "having the same argument over and over again.", Each person brings their own legacy to the relationship- expectations, dreams and needs - which can either be complimentary or clashing. When the conflict occurs it creates a power battle that is ongoing - with no apparent answers. By exploring these differences and opening communications to find common threads and areas for compromise, solutions are developed. 

Children go through various developmental changes. They can often feel stuck and react in a behavioral way- tantrums, school refusal, disobedience. Therapy is an outlet to express feelings. They learn to use words or through play to build understanding so they can move in a positive direction. Children value coping strategies for their fears.

Family therapy is a very interesting experience since the family issues are enacted right before you in the session. This is a great therapeutic opportunity to make changes then and there. Power positions, intimacy, communication, structure of the family are explored to bring the family to a more functional level. Families can get into bad habits - without even realizing it. Family therapy brings these issues to a greater awareness of each family member - who then become a key resource for change.

Organizations are composed of one or several groups. Like most groups they can be goal- directed, information-sharing, product promotion or administrative. Problems can occur along the way for the same reasons individuals have issues - cultural differences. diversity, communication glitches, sexual misunderstanding or lack of proper boundaries. Consulting is a way to look at your company through a psychologist's viewpoint - analyze the problems and offer helpful solutions that work for the individual, group, and overall corporate objectives.
